Designing with flows – Urban Metabolism of Rotterdam

FABRICations is an award winning design practice involved in architecture, urbanism and regional strategies. Founded in 2007 by Eric Frijters and Olv Klijn, the office’s work focuses on the spatial impact of a socially, economically and ecologically better environment.

Together with JFCO (Landscape Design office in New York City) and TNO (independent research organization based in The Hague) we realized this ambitious and important project. We built a multidisciplinary and international research team that has the expertise in the field of science-based methodologies for uncovering the metabolism, collecting, interpreting and visualizing data, socio-economic and environmental analysis and knowledge of the circular economy.

Designing with Flows – Urban Metabolism of Rotterdam studies opportunities to contribute to the sustainable development of the city.
